Be sober in spirit


"Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ" 1 Peter 1:13


We were never created to be idle. Each of us is uniquely and fearfully made by God for a purpose. We will never get to our purpose in life if we don't step out in faith. Our faith requires action and we can not be just hearers of the word but it's imperative that we begin to be a doer as well. No matter how daunting or uncomfortable our minds must be made up and ready for action. A ready mind is able to tackle any obstacle and overcome every hurdle. When your mind is made up, there is nothing you can not accomplished with God's help.


Today's scripture also encourages us to "keep sober in spirit. Sober can be defined in this verse as: one being alert, aware and on guard. When a person is sober in spirit they are not being influenced by anything that will impair their faith, hope or love in Christ Jesus. We have to be on the look out for the things that come to distort, distract and detach us from the Truth of God's word. When you are sober you are able to catch those thoughts that come to infiltrate your belief system and plant seeds of doubt.

If our mind is focused on fulfilling God's plan, we become fixed and unshakable regardless of what we will face in the process. When you are able to align your mind with the word of God you will experience a deeper revelation and understanding of God's grace and knowledge of his dear Son.


It's time to take hold of the plan of God for your life and put it into action. Stay alert and remain fixed in the hope of the one who loves you beyond comprehension. As you get a hold of how deep God love goes for you, there will be nothing that can hinder your quest to achieve all that he has sent before you.





Setting things in Order


I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel. Psalm 32:8

Let this year be one of clarity, divine instruction and counsel for you. As you look forward, embrace the direction that God wants to take you. It might seem like an uncomfortable path, but it will be worth it. God is moved by our faith and obedience. If we are able to obey him we will see the manifested blessings of our prayers.


January is the first month of the year and a great opportunity to set things in order. What you do in this month of the new year can set the tone for the rest of of your year.


God is speaking, he wants to instruct you and show you the way that he has prepared for you. All other paths will lead to fustration, heartache and regret. The Holy Spirit is ready, willing and able to lead you to the path that God wants for your life; that path is full of his promises ready to be manifested in your life. God is keeping a steady eye on you, he will protect you and give you the strength to walk gracefully.


May you find God to be your counselor and confidant this month as you listen earnestly for his voice and direction.


Hope

"There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off" Proverbs 23:18


You made it! Last year was challenging for all of us and at times it felt overwhelming. Yet, in our time of storm, we were not consumed. God has created us to be overcomers! You are still here to fulfill purpose.


As you consider this year, be intentional by increasing your time spent with God. It's in his presence your faith is being built. When we hope in God, our walk will be strengthen. Hope is the light of the soul and essential to every believer. It keeps us spiritually balanced and walks hand in hand with faith and love.


May 2021be the year you walk hand in hand with God. May you begin to hope again, dream again, love again! Believe God again for your greater.
