Psalm 94:19 NLT

"When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer."

Doubt is a feeling of uncertainty. When it enters our minds, we can be flooded with all kinds of thoughts that cause us to question what we are experiencing. Doubt can also act as a defense mechanism, promoting us to pause, reflect, and evaluate whether what we are recieving is rooted in truth.

While having doubts is normal, living in a constant state of doubt is unhealthy. Remaining in this state opens the door to instability, confusion, fear, and a lack of confidence in God's ability. It is a tactic the enemy often uses to discourage believers. When we begin to doubt God, our faith weakens, and we become vulnerable to double-mindedness.

Our Heavenly Father invites us to bring our doubts to Him so he can renew our minds through his Word. When our minds are overwhelmed by what we see, hear and experience, the Holy Spirit is there to remind us of God's promises and follow us with His hope, peace and joy.

Renewing our minds with Scripture helps keep unhealthy doubting at bay and shuts the door on the enemy's attempt to use it as a weapon against God's people.

When you feel doubtful, run to the Word of God and find scriptures that dismantle the instrusive thoughts rooted in hopelessness and fear. Any thought fueles by doubting God's ability to show up in your life is trespassing. When you meditate on the word and believe it with wholeheartedly, you will be able to serve doubt an eviction notice.

Colossians 3:14

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

Walking in love is the key to fulfilling what God expects from every believer. We are called to love both those who are easy to love and those who are difficult. It is natural to find joy in loving and caring for our family because it is easy to love the people we care about and to do things that enrich their lives. While that is admirable, God is calling us to reach those who need to experience His love—even when they are not easy to engage.

Some people may be difficult to love because of their attitudes, past hurts, or the way they treat others. Perhaps they are harsh, impatient, or unkind. Maybe they have betrayed your trust, spoken against you, or caused pain in your life. Others may be struggling with deep wounds, making them defensive or closed off to relationships. Still, God calls us to love them. Loving difficult people does not mean tolerating mistreatment, but it does mean extending grace, kindness, and patience, just as God does for us.

The thought of engaging with people we would rather avoid can be difficult, especially if we have experienced trauma. It may feel safer to stay within the comfort of our own bubble. However, God wants us to step outside our bubble, beyond our circle of comfort, and walk in the love He calls us to demonstrate.

When we share God’s love, people will experience the amazing transformation it brings. We are called to be willing vessels that God can use to show His great love. He is challenging us to extend His love to someone in need.

Ask Him today to prepare your heart and show you what act of love you can do today for someone who needs it.

It is true—love binds us together to create beautiful harmony. Love also heals!

Let's extend the love of God even further so others may experience the wonders of his love.

Timothy 6:11 (NIV)

"But as for you, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.”

Godliness is a lifestyle in pursuit of adopting and living the character of God.The pursuit of godliness is a lifelong journey that requires intentionality and dedication. In 1 Timothy 6:11, Paul encourages Timothy to actively seek out virtues that reflect the character of Christ. Godliness is not merely an external display of piety but an inner transformation that shapes our thoughts, actions, and relationships.

To pursue godliness, we must first understand what it means to live in a way that honors God. It involves cultivating a heart that desires to reflect His love and righteousness in all aspects of life. This pursuit requires us to engage deeply with Scripture, to pray fervently, and to surround ourselves with a community of believers who encourage us in our walk with Christ.

Action Steps

  • Spend time in prayer and ask God to reveal areas in your life where you can grow in godliness.

  • Choose a verse related to godliness to memorize this week and meditate on its meaning.

  • Seek out a Godly mentor or accountability partner who can encourage you in your pursuit of godliness.

The pursuit of godliness is not a destination but a continuous journey of becoming more like Christ. Embrace this journey with joy, knowing that as you seek Him, He will shape you into His image.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Word and the example of Christ. Help me to pursue godliness in my daily life. Teach me to be righteous, faithful, loving, enduring, and gentle. May my pursuit of You transform my heart and reflect Your glory to those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
