Esther 4:16

“…And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; if I perish, I perish.”

The book of Esther tells the powerful story of how God delivered the Jews from Haman’s plot to destroy them.

Before Esther displayed courage, she experienced a moment of self-preservation. She understood the law and the consequences of entering the king’s court without permission. However, the words she received from Mordecai prompted her to face a difficult truth: if Haman’s plan succeeded, she would share the same fate as her people.

Taking a bold stand under pressure allowed Esther to tap into the power of prayer and fasting. She didn’t do it alone—she called on others to join her, creating unity in their request for favor from the king.

Like Esther, we too can bring our problems and dilemmas to the Lord through fasting and prayer seeking guidance and the right course of action. In-high pressure situations, it’s tempting to withdraw or disengage. But God has given us a bold and courageous spirit to overcome even the most difficult circumstances.

Because of Jesus and His shed blood, we can go boldly into the courts of our Heavenly Father. We have the incredible privilege and honor of speaking directly to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When we approach His throne, we never have to wonder if He will accept us or listen to our concerns—He always will.

When we take the extra step to incorporate fasting and prayer, we silence the noise and distractions that feed doubt and fear. And when we unite with other believers in prayer, we create a powerful bond that strengthens and uplifts us all.

Today, be bold in your prayers. Don’t let the pressures of life silence you or steal your courage. God is for you, and He is waiting for you to know He is with you.

Acts 4:29-31 KJV 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your Holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Peter and John was imprisoned because of their faith in Jesus. They healed a lame man at the gate called Beautiful and preached the resurrection power of the only Son of God. They spoke the word of God and many who heard the word believed. The religious leaders at that time refused the teachings of Jesus and forbade them to stop ministering in his name. They conferred that they couldn’t speak against the miracle because it was evident that the man was healed after 40 years of being lame, therefore they could not deny it. Instead, they agreed to stop the spread of the gospel by severely threatening them to no longer speak or teach in the name of Jesus.

Peter and John’s response depicts a position that is exemplary. They answered “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot speak the things which we have seen and heard” In other words, we rather obey God rather than obey man. When we are faced with a difficult decision to stand for the word of God we must exercise boldness and courage. Our response to threats is to obey God and he will handle those that are coming up against his plan.

After they were released, they gathered among other believers and prayed a prayer for boldness. In order to continue to do the will of our Father in heaven, we must ask God to grant us boldness to speak his word and to perform those miracles, signs and wonders that are undeniable. When we exercise boldness, God can begin to use us for great exploits in him. Do not allow the enemy to threaten or silence you. No matter what may come up against you, God is with you as he was with Peter and John.

As you pray and seek God for greater boldness today, let the Spirit of the almighty God begin to fill you afresh with his power so that you may speak unhindered and do the will of your Father in heaven. Let boldness, courage and authority arise in you as you declare the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Read James 2:14-24

"What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?"James 2:14 NKJV

Faith is simply a belief in someone, thing or concept. We can believe in something but never really practice what we believe. Our faith should go beyond our words and take shape in our lives. In today’s scripture the author speaks of the importance of our faith and the need for action. Believing in God is not enough, as Christians it is our duty to live out our faith by not just what we profess but what we do because of our faith. The bible clearly states that faith without works is no faith at all. To state it plainly, our faith is dead if it is not accompanied through action.

We have seen tremendous proof of this principle throughout history. When people firmly believe in something, they act on it. Action brings about change, and change impact the way we live. Think of a time when you had a firm belief in something…what did you do? What was the outcome? How did it change you or the way that you now live?

Our faith comes alive when we practice it every day. In order for our faith to remain strong we have to be intentional at stepping out. If God is telling us to do something bold or innovative we shouldn’t be afraid to exercise our faith. Take the steps to do something that you believe in. The Holy Spirit will be your guide and provide you with the instructions you need to be successful. It speaks in greater volume and holds weight when its put to the test. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by, just believe!
