Godliness + Contentment = Great Gain

"But godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Timothy 6:6

Godliness is way of life and the pursuit of walking in the character of our Heavenly Father. When we choose to pursue him and seek him with all of our hearts, we find a sense of contentment even in the most challenging of times. The formula that we often overlook to maintain our spiritual perspective is to subtract our view and add God's perspective. When we follow this formula we are able to view things from a lens of contentment in any situation.

Contentment doesn't mean you are settling for less or don't have ambitions for a better tomorrow. It simply means that you can still have your joy, peace, faith, patience and strength until your change comes. When we consider God's presence in our life and all that he has brought us through, we find contentment knowing that whatever we are faced with is nothing we can't handle with his guidance. Grasping this truth and biblical principle allows us to gain a level of assurance that we otherwise would not receive.

Building a godly character is an honorable and invaluable way of living. We tap into greater knowledge and understanding that leads to gaining wisdom that will govern our lives. Contentment of the heart, mind and soul tells God that you are willing to wait for your overflow season without complaint. Today, you might not be where you think you should be, but as you learn to thank God for the blessings in your life; you will find that you are exactly where he wants you to be.
