Read Romans 12:3-9
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.” Romans 12:6 NIV
The word of God tells us that we must prophesy according to the faith we have. This is a very important point. Why? Because when you speak you can bring life or death into any situation. The scripture tells us that there is life and death in the power of the tongue. Words cannot be effective unless we understand the meaning behind the word that gives it purpose. Having understanding unlocks the door to wisdom.
So when we ask God to move in our lives and to answer our prayers, we have to ask ourselves the questions: Do I really believe with all of my heart that God can do this for me? Do I doubt His word in the midst of decreeing and declaring a thing? Do I trust God to come through for me this time? All of these questions must be replaced with confidence and faith in God. We must first believe that He is God and that He will reward those who diligently seek Him.
Romans 12:6 tell us that if our gift is prophesying, let us use it in proportion to our faith. Now although operating in the prophetic may not be the strongest gift of all believers, we are all capable of speaking over our lives the promises of God by faith. God has given to every man a measure of faith, which must be in alignment with our declarations in order to see results. As we grow in our faith, our declarations will follow. You cannot declare anything if you are not ready to face the accountability and responsibility of those words. Our faith develops when we believe and trust God in a way that defies natural boundaries and what we see as "reality".
Every mustard seed once planted can turn into a tree. Don’t despise your small beginnings. So, I challenge you to start out where your faith reaches and watch God increase your faith with every step you make to trust Him.
