Prayer is Essential

Jeremiah 29:12 NIV

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

In every facet of our living, we have come to realize that communication is key. We need it every day for almost every interaction. It is the building block of our relationships and without it, our relationships would be fragmented. We see the breakdown of relationships when there is a lack of communication. We have experienced this cessation with family members, friends and even our colleagues. Some are intentional while others are not. Sadly, we lose the desire to check in and we become comfortable with letting the relationship go.

Our communication with others is integral and should be salvaged if mutually beneficial. However, losing communication with our heavenly Father is detrimental to our relationship with him. We can’t afford to lose our desire to be in his presence.

Prayer is simply. It is not what we believe it to be. It’s our personal conversation with God. He is not looking for fancy words or elaborate gestures. God is just looking for a sincere heartfelt conversation. We can talk to God at any time. We are not limited to a closet, but we can pray throughout the day anywhere.

When we take the time out to pray, we are telling God that he is important enough to spend time with. As you carve out time today, you will notice that you will begin to feel refreshed and uplifted after every encounter. Every minute spent in prayer, is time well spent. Don’t let your prayer life slip. God is yearning to hear from you. Make it up in your mind to put the extra effort to talk with our Father throughout your day. You won’t be disappointed that you did.
