No Weapon

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord" Isaiah 54:17

One of the most quoted scriptures in the Bible is Isaiah 54:17. When we are faced with serious opposition this is the verse that reminds us of the authority that God has given us and our promise of protection. As believers, we will engage in spiritual opposition but it will not overtake us.

The scripture was clear that weapons that the enemy might launch toward us will form or show up in our lives. These weapons may come to attack our finances, health, relationships, our character, ministry, community and even our nation. These attacks come to discourage, kill, steal and destroy our walk in God and separate us from each other. Yet, in all of the enemy's attempt, the word of God assures us that it will not be successful. God has given us his power and authority to silence the mouth of the enemy.

The scripture points out that there is something that we must do to address what is coming up against us. As believers, we have the power to condemn the works of the enemy. To condemn is to express complete disapproval, censure or denounce. So, when we begin to sense the enemy at work, we must condemn his plans and render them powerless over our lives, families, businesses, and ministries in Jesus name.

The second half of this scripture is not frequently recited but just as important. As a servant of the living God, we walk not in our own righteousness, but in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are fit to stand against the works of the enemy because we have inherited his righteousness.

So, when you are experiencing intense opposition against your life and all that is attached to you, understand that you are covered. Stand firm in your confession of faith and believe that the enemy must submit to God's command.
