" See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:19
In the last several months we have heard the word transition over 1,000 times. We see it happening at home, work, school, church and in our nation. People are experiencing transition in almost every facet of their lives and all at once. With so much happening, it's easy to miss what God is doing. Change brings out the best and exposes those stubborn areas in our lives.
No matter how much one might believe they are open and welcoming to change, we tend to struggle a bit with adopting its meaning in our lives. How well we adapt depends on the area most impacted. Too much change can disrupt what we have been accustomed to. Anything we are comfortable with threatens our growth and ability to have vision beyond our comfort.
Transition is said to be the process or period of changing from one state or condition to another. Unfortunately, this is not ideal for the person that doesn't see the need for change or the need to fix anything that they don't deem broken. However, the danger of this mindset will keep us static.
In order to catch what God is doing, we must be willing to be flexible and move when he says to move. If we are unwilling to transition from one state to the next, we will remain stuck looking for breakthrough in the wrong place. We have asked God to intervene when we needed his counsel, guidance and direction in our lives. However, when he gives us the remedy we often miss it because we are not in position to recieve it.
God wants his people to know that he is in our midst. He is calling us to make that step of faith so we can be in a place to recieve. When we precieve what God is doing in our lives we must prepare ourselves for action.
It's time to lay hold of the new! Your new is not in your past but its in the now. It's time to transition your heart and mind so you can walk right into God's perfect will for your life. He is doing something new; in order for you to recieve it, you must be willing to transition for it!
