I will remain Full (Part 1)

Updated: Oct 20, 2020

John 6:35-37

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.

37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

God is our provider and the lifter of our head. We can freely go to him in our time of need. Especially when we are experiencing a moment of spiritual deficiency in our lives. Life has a way of taking us on an unwanted roller coaster when we are up today and down tomorrow. It has a way of draining us to the point of feeling empty inside…IF we allow it.

Jesus declares that even in those instances he will preserve us. We will never lack anything when we abide in him. He is the Bread of Life and the one who keeps us full. When we partake of what Jesus has provided, we will never stay in a place of drought were we can often find ourselves. The scripture says that he will never turn us away, but earnestly waits for us to come to him. Our Savior is able and willing to meet our spiritual, physical or psychological needs. In him is the reservoir of life! He sprouts in us a well that never goes dry. He is our bread when we are famished and in him we remain satisfied.

The word of God is food for our soul. The more we meditate on it and apply it to our life we become full with the promises of God. As we feast on the word of God it becomes a shelter for us from the wear and tear of life. We can’t escape hardship but we will have a confidence knowing that God will always be there to see us through.
