God of Comfort

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

We can take comfort in God because that is one of his many attributes, he is a comforter. According to Webster dictionary, Comfort is defined as a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint. It is also defined as the easing or alleviation of a person's feelings of grief or distress. Our God is willing and able to alleviate us from our feelings of grief and distress.

We all experience moments in our lives that we wished we never had to go through. Some were paniful, full of unbearable heartache. Others were tramatic encounters that left us feeling a void and an emptiness that we ourselves could never fill. We would quickly come to the understanding that our situation was bigger than us but not bigger than our God. No matter how daunting the circumstance, our God was always there to wrap his loving arms around us.

His love strengthens us to overcome everything that tries to pry away our peace, steal our joy and surpress our faith. He knows exactly what we need when we need it the most. His words of compassion becomes our balm of healing over our brokeness, pain and distress.

Whatever state you might find yourself in today, it will not last forever. God is providing his comfort to you right now. As your read this, begin to declare healing in your soul. Allow him to strengthen and comfort you. Recieve it with confidence knowing that your present situation is turning around for your good.

Remember, strength is transferrable! We are strengthen to strengthen someone else. God is allowing you to experience all that you are dealing with to be a comfort to those that need your words of comfort. When you overcome, you take others with you. Your victory is not your own, when you overcome, others will too.
