Are you being watched?

Ephesians 5:1-2 Therefore, be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Make no mistake, people are watching our conduct and the faith that we proclaim. There are friends, family, neighbors and onlookers that are observing how we are living. They are making careful note of what we are professing to see if it lines up with our actions. Depending on what they see we can be an instrument that will draw them to Christ or we can be someone that turns them away.

Our life should be a reflection and testament of God’s love and mercy to all those that are around us. We must be imitators of Christ in word and in deed. When we fail to practice what we preach on a consist basis we do a disservice to the Kingdom of God. We represent Jesus in the earth, and people should be able to identify Christ in you. People are looking for hope and a way of escape from the way they are living. However, if you do not offer a better way of living they are not encouraged to change their lifestyle or seek the Lord.

We are constantly being transformed into the image of God as we mature in our walk, yet our walk should be one that inspires others and not turn them away. Our walk must be one that portrays the love of Christ and the fruit of his Spirit. When we can love like God, we begin to see our life and those around us begin to transform. Our faith in God can compel them but it’s our love for God and his people that keeps them seeking him.

We must remember that we are a living sacrifice, one that should remain holy and acceptable in God’s sight. You never know who is admiring you from afar and want to learn more about the God you serve. Let your walk speak for you and let your testimony be a light to others.
